Hey curvy girls all over the world,
Yesterday was another nice early fall day. Breezy, but not too cold. I thought it would be a good idea to break out my leather pencil skirt I got from Jessica London last year. It’s a little snugger this year due to some extra snacking, but with a little grease and spanx, I made it fit. :). I wore the skirt to Fall Fashion Week 2010 with a tweed jacket (seen here). I wanted an easy yet sharp look for work, so I wore it with the red tie neck blouse I bought from Avenue. The look is simple, but the bright red against the black really pops (in my opinion). Anytime I wear a simple look, I like to incorporate a pair of fun shoes to make the look more interesting, so I wore my leopard print Michael Kors pumps with it.
I try not to be matchy matchy with jewelry, but these red and black tribal print earrings from Forever21 looked pretty good with it. The tie neck blouse is going to be a wardrobe staple for me. I would wear it even if it wasn’t on trend. The Avenue top is cute, I just wish the tie was longer in an obnoxious way, so it could standout more. I’m thinking about getting the purple color in it too.

My Fall work staples are ruffle neck and tie neck blouses, pencil skirts, and blazers. I LOVE red and black together I just recently did a look as well with red, black and leopard!!
this outfit is chic! i am totally on board with the tie-neck trend and like you, i prefer the long ties to make pussy bows. style4curves is my style twin but i’ve swapped out the pencil skirts for skinny jeans which i usually rock with wedges.

I love this look! And yes that blouse will be a staple for the long run. And you got it from Avenue? Obviously I have been “sleeping” on the Avenue because when I check them out most of their items look like they are for granny.
