My name is Alissa and I am a leopard print-a-holic. There I said it. I’m crazy about leopard print. I bought this Kenneth Cole (plus collection) leopard print sheer button up last year from Lord & Taylor. I was immediately attracted to it for obvious reasons. I bought it and then I returned it, all within the same day. I went home and the shirt just stayed on my mind.
I went back to Lord & Taylor’s two weeks later with the hopes of the shirt still being there and in my size. I knew it was a gamble, but I just couldn’t not go back to see if it was there. I searched the sale section high and low looking for anything that had leopard print on it. After about a good 10 minutes of searching, there it was. I purchased it with the quickness and held on to it ever since.
I had been looking for the perfect piece to wear it with. Big Love star Ginnifer Goodwin (Seen Here) had a similar leopard print top and she wore hers over black skinny jeans and with gray suede pumps. I wanted to recreate the same look, but, when I did, I felt it didn’t look as good as she did. So I wore it to work with a pencil skirt. However, I still wasn’t satisfied. I wanted a more sexy chic look for this blouse.
After checking out Kmart’s newly and much needed revamped plus size line, I found a pair of black polyester shorts that had a gold elastic waistband.
When I tried them on, no lie, they were the best pair of shorts I had in a very looooong time. The fit was loose and draped. Even when I walked they did not ride up. They bunched a little but the fabric was so soft and smooth that they would fall right back into place. Seriously, you guys need to try these shorts. I’m not a Kmart shopper, but they had me sold with these shorts.
I thought the dressy black shorts looked perfect with the leopard print sheer top. It gave me that sexy chic look I was going for. If you’re a plus size girl that is still afraid of shorts, I suggest these. They are cut like culottes and are super flattering. Even with my cellulite hanging out, I still felt confident and sexy.
I also loved that the leopard print top had a, what I like to call, a loosey goosey fit. I do like my clothes to skim my curves, but, I felt like the slightly oversized fit of this blouse was so modern and chic.
