Hey curvy girls all over the world,
As a self-proclaimed shop-a-holic, I’ve spent more time than I care to share on curating a wardrobe that not only consisted of fun trendy styles from fast fashion stores but also on quality designer clothes that I know will last for years. As a plus size woman it can be frustrating trying to create a wardrobe that doesn’t only consist of Forever 21 clothes. No, I am not trying to play Forever 21 because I am in there every Thursday but sometimes we as plus size women need to treat our selves to more than just cheap fast fashion. I love me a $25 dress just like the next girl but having a closet full of disposable clothing will create a high turnover rate in your closet. Basically you will always be throwing or giving away clothes because they faded or the life expectancy of the garment has run its course.
I get it. We all have different budgets and can’t all afford a closet full of designer duds and yes you can look like a million bucks by shopping bargain stores, but I think we all deserve to have those splurge worthy pieces in our closet. Even the most frugal person will have one or two designer pieces that they coveted and just chalked it up to being an investment The plus size fashion industry has come a long way. We have more independent designers than ever before who are making high quality styles for our plus size shapes. There are many designers who have reasonable price points and there are other designer price points that will have you skipping out on the rent.
To help you find the right plus size designer piece for your splurge budget, we’ve listed some plus size designer pieces that are worth the splurge and that you will have for almost forever. Most plus size designers have signature pieces. That means a piece that was their claim to fame and will almost always be in every collection they offer just in a different color or print. Just like Diane Von Furstenberg has her signature wrap dresses or Marc Jacobs and his girly mini shift dresses, plus size designers have their signature pieces and we think they’re worth your hard earned nickels.
Designers like Michael Kors, Donna Karan, and Calvin Klein can be found heavily discounted at your local department stores. The list we created are a mix of independent plus size designers .
Checkout the plus size designer pieces we think are worth the investment based on their practicality, quality, and design.
